Many people with SCI or TBI want to aggressively pursue physical activity to achieve improved functionality. Unfortunately, many insurers do not allow for the necessary extended therapy that is required. Often, these individuals cannot afford to privately pay.
Therefore, to reach our goal of providing ongoing physical and occupational therapy for all persons with spinal cord injuries, we must find additional resources.
The Mary and Charles A. Parkhill Foundation for Spinal Cord Rehabilitation has been established.
The goal of this foundation is to provide grants and “scholarships” to individuals with SCI or TBI, to be used by these individuals, to obtain ongoing rehabilitation and therapy services.
We are now accepting applications for grants. If you are among the finalists, you will be contacted for an interview.
As the foundation is in its very early stages of organizing and beginning operations, check back with this website for future fundraising activities and events.
If you are interested in contributing now, or for more information, email MACAPF@aol.com, or call Charlie Parkhill through The Recovery Project at 734-953-1745.
