This October, The Recovery Project celebrated its 22 year anniversary! What started with a vision from SCI survivor Charlie Parkhill and his Physical Therapist Polly Swingle has grown into something greater than they could have imagined. We also celebrated Physical therapy Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Make sure to check us out on Facebook and Instagram to see how we celebrated!
For 22 years, TRP has been guided by Core Values that remain at the heart of everything we do:
Hope Starts Here
Client Quality of Life
Compassion
Extraordinary Staff
Evidence-Based Therapy
Along the way, we’ve met thousands of incredible patients and families, built programs that push the boundaries of neurorehab, and created a community that inspires us every single day. We are so proud of how far we’ve come and even more excited about where we’re going. Here’s to the next chapter of recovery, possibility, and hope.
With the weather turning, transportation can become more of an issue when getting out and about, especially to appointments. Did you know that we can come to you in your home for therapy through our Residential and Community Rehabilitation program? Learn more below and make sure to call us today to set up an in-home appointment.
(Have you followed us on social to see what we have been up to in the clinic and out in the community? Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram!)
October was National Physical Therapy Month and we want to take this opportunity to thank the best PT team in the business!
Our physical therapists and physical therapist assistants are not only extremely knowledgeable and are expert clinicians, but they are also the most compassionate, dedicated, and positive individuals. We are so fortunate to have each and every one of them on our team!
HAPPY PT MONTH!

We’re so excited to officially welcome Claire Donahue, OT to our TRP team!
She’s no stranger to TRP, Claire was previously a student at our Lansing clinic and we couldn’t be happier to have her back on the team!
Claire graduated from Grand Valley State University and was drawn to neuro rehab because of the perseverance she sees in her patients every single day. She loves that this field lets her combine creativity, compassion & clinical skill to help people reach their goals.
When thinking about what she’s most excited about, Claire said it’s the opportunity to be part of each patient’s unique journey in TRP’s uplifting and positive environment and we couldn’t agree more!
Oh, and a fun fact: she’s been bungee jumping in Thailand!
Welcome to the team, Amy Wisnenbaugh, OTD, OTR/L!
We’re excited to welcome Amy back to TRP this time as an occupational therapist!
Amy earned her degree from U-M Flint (Go Blue!) and first joined us as a student during her clinical internship. After spending the past two years working in an orthopedic/hand clinic, she’s returning to her neuro roots & the area that first sparked her passion.
What drew her to the neuro world? The creativity! Amy loves that no two sessions look the same and that each day brings new opportunities to make a real difference in people’s lives.
So far, she’s loving the friendly faces, positive energy, and genuine excitement that fills our clinics. When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll probably find her cheering on Detroit’s football and hockey teams, hiking Michigan trails with her boyfriend, or winding down with a good book.
