Strength Exercises and Motor Skill Rehabilitation for Those Living with Reduced Arm Function

Active Arms Level 1

This class is for those who have minimal to nonexistent arm function and are looking for strategies to keep range of motion and strength to make daily tasks easier. It focuses on education of range of motion, including adaptive techniques for those with minimal function. The class also incorporates weight-bearing exercises, as well as shoulder girdle strengthening.
Active Arms Level 1 is a great way for attendees to learn new techniques, as well as support and be supported by others who are also experiencing the difficulties that come with limited arm function.

Active Arms Level 2

This class will incorporate higher functioning tasks that require moderate fine motor skills, strength, and functional ability of the upper extremities. As with all our classes, Level 2 is based on research and involves high-repetition, activity-based exercises for optimal arm function.
Each class is 60 minutes long, and takes patients through a range of motion exercises, strength training, fine motor coordination, and functional activities of daily living. The goal is to help attendees achieve greater independence when it comes to feeding, dressing, bathing, and performing everyday tasks.
