The Recovery Project Hosts 10th Annual Fundraiser to Benefit the Mary and Charles A Parkhill Foundation for Spinal Cord Rehabilitation

The Recovery Project, a leading provider of high-intensity physical and occupational therapies that improve the lives and functionality of patients with spinal cord and other neurological injuries, will once again serve as presenting sponsor for the 10th annual Bocce Palooza event on Saturday, Feb. 25, with all proceeds from the event benefitting the Mary and Charles A. Parkhill Foundation. Polly Swingle, president and co-CEO of The Recovery Project, made the announcement.

The mission of The Mary and Charles A. Parkhill Foundation is to raise funds that will be granted to individuals, in the form of scholarships, to obtain occupational and physical therapy services. The Foundation has raised more than $500,000 to date to help those without health care benefits or other resources receive vital therapy care to improve strength, mobility, quality of life and the hope that goes along with striving for and reaching personal goals. Nearly 40 grants have been awarded to date.

“The funds raised through Bocce Palooza and other donations throughout the year make it possible for The Mary and Charles A. Parkhill Foundation to award these much-needed scholarships to deserving individuals,” said Charlie Parkhill, president of the Foundation. “Over the past decade, we’ve worked with dozens of individuals who are positively impacted mentally, physically and emotionally by the continued care they are able to receive as a result of these scholarships, and we’re so thankful to everyone who has donated time and resources to ensure the Foundation can continue this life-altering work.”

The 10th annual Bocce Palooza will take place at Palazzo Di Bocce, located at 4291 S. Lapeer Rd., Orion, Michigan, 48359, from 6 – 11 p.m. Individual tickets can be purchased in advance for $125, which includes dinner, drinks and entry into the Bocce Ball tournament. There will also be a silent auction and raffles at the event for attendees.
