The Recovery Project Discusses Tips to Prevent Alzheimer’s Disease on WXYZ

The Recovery Project’s Polly Swingle visited WXYZ during National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month to discuss some ways to reduce your risk of developing Alzheimer’s.

It’s estimated that 5.7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. By 2050, that number is expected to rise to nearly 50 million.

Evidence has shown that regular exercise, especially cardio, can reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease by up to 50%. Along with physical exercise, neurologists report that mental exercises can help reduce your chance of developing the disease by up to 70%.
