The Recovery Project, a leading provider of high-intensity physical and occupational therapies that improve the lives and functionality of patients with spinal cord and other neurological injuries, has added Jessica Pulliam, Ashley Bloch, Katie Mittelstaedt and Steve Styes to its growing operations. Polly Swingle, president and co-CEO of The Recovery Project, made the announcement.
“The Recovery Project continues to rapidly expand, necessitating the need for us to bring in exceptional physical therapists and support staff who are committed to helping clients improve physically and emotionally as they strive to meet their goals,” said Swingle. “Jessica, Ashley, Katie and Steve possess a passion for working with people and motivating them to strive for more, and we know they will be great additions to our team moving forward.”
Both Pulliam and Bloch join The Recovery Project as physical therapists, where they will work directly with clients who have a wide variety of physical ailments and conditions to evaluate their needs and implement evidence-based physical therapy programs intended to directly help clients meet their goals and improve quality of life. Pulliam previously worked at Portland-based Therapeutic Associates and graduated from the University of Colorado with a doctorate of physical therapy. Prior to joining The Recovery Project, Bloch worked as a physical therapist for the Henry Ford Health System in Novi where she treated patients with neurological disorders. She graduated from Grand Valley State University with a doctorate of physical therapy.
As a certified occupational therapy assistant, Mittelstaedt will work with the clinic’s occupational therapists to implement patient treatment plans and adapt them as necessary to elicit continued progress for patients. Mittelstaedt worked as an occupational therapy assistant for Shelby Nursing Center in Shelby Township prior to joining The Recovery Project.
Styes, a certified and registered yoga teacher and certified Parkinson’s wellness recovery instructor (PWR!), will serve as a wellness program coordinator for The Recovery Project, where he will manage, coordinate and grow the clinic’s wellness programs. This includes introducing and implementing new wellness programs, and teaching yoga and PWR! classes. He previously taught public and private yoga classes and conducted private yoga therapy sessions.
