THE RECOVERY PROJECT NAMED A “MYOMO CENTER OF THERAPY EXCELLENCE”

Partnership positions The Recovery Project as a provider of the MyoPro Orthosis
to individuals in metro Detroit and Lansing

The Recovery Project, a leading provider of progressive, effective neuro rehab therapies that improve the lives and functionality of patients with spinal cord and other neurological injuries, has been named a “Myomo Center of Therapy Excellence,” a distinction which allows The Recovery Project to screen and fit individuals in metro Detroit and Lansing for Myomo’s MyoPro Orthosis. Polly Swingle, president and co-CEO of The Recovery Project, made the announcement.

The MyoPro Orthosis is a powered arm brace created by Myomo. It uses a series of non-invasive precision sensors to detect an individual’s own muscle signals and respond accordingly. The user completely controls his or her own hand or arm as the brace amplifies those weak muscle signals to help move the limb.

“This type of advanced technology is a game-changer for our clients who have suffered some form of paralysis in their arms and want to regain motor functionality to live a more independent lifestyle,” said Swingle. “The work Myomo is doing to help individuals improve their quality of life aligns perfectly with our core mission and values at The Recovery Project, which is why we jumped at the chance to partner with them to outfit individuals in the metro Detroit and Lansing areas with the MyoPro Orthosis.”

Individuals interested in obtaining a MyoPro device are required to undergo a free hands-on screening through The Recovery Project. The screening lasts about an hour and tests range of motion, strength, cognitive ability and more. Below are the upcoming screening days at each of The Recovery Project’s three clinics:

  • Lansing:
