The Recovery Project Takes Power Over Parkinson’s Disease on FOX 2

The Recovery Project’s Meghan Malley and Steve Styes visited FOX 2 Detroit to talk about the company’s upcoming “Take Power Over Parkinson’s” event and demonstrate adaptive exercises for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.

It’s estimated that 7 to 10 million people worldwide are living with Parkinson’s disease (PD), a chronic neurodegenerative condition.

While research shows that consistent exercise specifically designed for PD is key in helping individuals with the disease manage their symptoms, many individuals lack the critical resources needed to participate in these types of activities—like yoga, boxing, tai chi or cycling. “Take Power Over Parkinson’s” remedies that by raising much-needed funds to help individuals with the disease gain access to life-changing wellness programs.
